Liberated Woman - Polly Perkins
"Polly Perkins was a top favourite Artiste with the Chapter One team, and later on in life became a very fine actress. Just a few words from some of the luminaries of the 1970's:- ANNE NIGHTINGALE - "She's good alright! The voice is strong, powerful, swinging and about as sweet as hot mustard". PETE MURRAY - "A very talented young lady". JONAH BARRINGTON - "I mentioned marriage and the response was a blank stare!". RAY CONNOLLY - "Polly Perkins is very feminine and very attractive. She has a son called Toby and the two of them live in a pleasant terraced house in Wood Green, with a dog, a cat, a mouse, and Polly's girlfriend. They're a happy family. They all laugh a lot and there's a distinctly relaxed atmosphere around the house. With the total security of the supremely confident, Polly even makes little jokes against herself. NB:- There are now two dogs, six cats and the mouse got caught! Ray Connolly. And now a word from Polly Perkins herself: "Liberation for women means society crumbling, marriage ruined, children left to get on with their own scenes, men losing their hold on the purse-strings and bedclothes, and women fancying other women.
